The MentorHack Hackathon started: 200 participants, 50 teams
The MentorHack Hackathon started within the «Mentor» Forum. The tasks are set and prizes announced. The total prize fund is 1.3 million rubles. Nominations are set by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the organizer of the forum and Hackathon, as well as by the forum partners: the Russian Federal Service for Labor and Employment «Rostrud», the BusinessChain project and the SuperJob company.
A competent mentor provides structural development of the project
IPE Lab project – BusinessChain – announced a special nomination «Virtual mentor» with the prize fund of 300 thousand rubles including 150 thousand rubles for the first place. «Probably many of us have dreamt of a big green button that launches the function ‘Make all the work done well’. We try to make such a button for our platform participants,» said Elena Aleksandrova, IPE Lab Сhief business development officer. BusinessChain is an environment for projects, ideas, experts, mentors, investors and accelerators to cooperate and work in team. This will result into a structured development of the project.
The mentor’s role is difficult to overestimate. «Success of the project is also determined by scrupulous selection of specialists, taking into account their knowledge, experience and competences. In addition, the mentor oversees the project, directing the way it develops,» explained Elena Aleksandrova, «We expect the proposed solutions will help to find expert profiles that will meet the goals of a particular project.»
A similar task was put by representatives of the Superjob.ru portal. «Unfortunately, 60% of people with high education in Russia do not work in their specialty and are not going to do so in the foreseeable future. That makes a problem of discrepancy between the choice of education and the real work activity», said the Superjob president Alexey Zakharov, «The mentoring system could make the process of choosing education and employment more efficient, especially at this stage of extensive growth when new professions constantly appear.»
The Rostrud representative said that the most significant challenge is to bring demand in accordance with supply at labor market. «For example, 150 thousand vacancies are to be filled in the Far East in the coming years. It is impossible to solve this task by hand,» said Denis Vasiliev, the deputy head of Rostrud. The hackathon best solutions will be used in managing the all-Russian vacancy base «Work in Russia.»
In total, more than 200 participants registered in the hackathon and about 50 teams were formed.
